Cookie Policy
Effective May 19, 2026 · Receptionist On Call, Inc.
This Cookie Policy explains how Receptionist On Call, Inc. (“Company,” “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on receptionistoncall.com and within the dashboard application (collectively, the “Sites”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website or application. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site operator. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixel tags; for simplicity, this policy refers to all of these as “cookies.”
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly necessary.
These cookies are required to operate the Sites. They include the authentication session cookie that keeps you signed in, a cross-site-request-forgery token, and a cookie that remembers your selected organization within the dashboard. These cookies cannot be disabled because the Sites do not function without them.
2.2 Preference.
Preference cookies remember choices such as your selected color theme and your acceptance of this Cookie Policy. They do not contain personal information beyond what is needed for the preference itself.
2.3 Analytics.
We use privacy-respecting first-party analytics to count visits and to understand which pages are most useful. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before placing non-essential analytics cookies. Analytics cookies do not identify you personally and are not combined with account data for advertising purposes.
2.4 No advertising cookies.
We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not allow third parties to drop advertising cookies through our Sites.
3. Cookie Inventory
- roc_session — strictly necessary; authenticated session; first-party; HTTP-only; expires when the session ends or after 30 days, whichever is earlier.
- roc_org — preference; stores the currently selected organization; first-party; expires after 365 days.
- roc_theme — preference; remembers light/dark mode; first-party; expires after 365 days.
- roc_cookie_consent — strictly necessary; records your cookie-banner choice so we do not show the banner again; first-party; expires after 180 days.
- roc_analytics — analytics; pseudonymous device identifier for first-party analytics; set only after consent in regions that require it; expires after 90 days.
4. Your Choices
You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner displayed on your first visit and at any time by clearing the roc_cookie_consent value through your browser settings or by visiting your cookie preferences. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or set the browser to alert you when cookies are placed. Refer to your browser’s documentation for details.
5. Do Not Track
We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no common standard for interpreting them exists. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law as an opt-out of any sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; because we do not engage in such advertising, the GPC signal has no operational effect for us beyond confirmation.
6. Children
The Sites are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly place cookies on the devices of children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the cookie banner or in the dashboard.
8. Contact
